Other than the caricature sticker family of six I put on our van (at the suggestion of my husband, no less!), I’m pretty happy with being anonymous. The first political sticker that I even considered was the black oval one with a white “W” during George W. Bush’s re-election campaign. It was simple, classic…brilliant. All that was missing was a little dazzle and maybe some pink…

After watching a few episodes of the John Adams mini series last summer, I was so impressed with the side story of Abigail Adams. What an amazingly strong woman! She understood the hard work and sacrifice it took from so many to establish such a great Nation. She said, “Great necessities call out great virtues.” I think American’s today are longing to get back to our roots, to be proud once again of our Grand Old Party.

Last fall I started getting the itch to boast my Republican pride a little more publically. After searching high and low for a bumper sticker and finding nothing that would do, I started designing my own while out driving carpool. I prefer something other than the typical red-white-blue - instead something fashionable, something girly.

Being the wife of a Legislator, I’ve come face-to-face with negative campaigning. I still shutter when I think of the horrible mail we received and had to hide from our kids. I decided then and there that my message would always be a positive one. I’d stay away from any type of “Obama bashing” and the like. Frankly, what’s the point? Having a chip on your shoulder is counter productive. It takes positive action to really make a difference.

As far as design goes, I kept thinking, “something simple, stylish and fashionable. Maybe there should be sparkle, girly colors…ultimately it has to be just plain cute! A design I’d actually be proud to display on my extremely busy, swim mom, minivan.”

What I liked about the “W” sticker most was its positive simplicity. I started thinking of phrases that worked with Conservative, Republican, Patriot, GOP, the Tea Party Movement and the like. Our first three designs are simply; “patriot,” “TEAparty,” and “R” (for Republican). We have more designs up our sleeve that we’re eager to launch, but we’re making sure (especially in this economy) to not let the “cart get before the horse.” You can check out our designs for yourself at: www.PatriotBling.com
